Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Risk

You acknowledge and understand that your pet’s care and well-being during the service are subject to various factors and risks, including health, behaviour, and environment. We will provide appropriate care to the best of our ability, in line with South African animal welfare laws. However, unforeseen circumstances may arise.

2. Service Agreement

FatPuppy Pet Care agrees to provide pet-sitting services as discussed and agreed between both parties. You agree to supply accurate and complete information regarding your pet(s), including routines, medical needs, and emergency contacts.

3. Contact Information

You confirm that all contact and emergency details provided are accurate and up to date.

4. Bookings and Payments

• All bookings and rates will be confirmed before services begin.
• A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking; the remaining 50% is payable after the sitting event.
• Extra fees may apply for extended hours or services outside the agreement.
• All future bookings must be made directly with FatPuppy Pet Care, not with individual sitters, to ensure professionalism and continuity.

5. Cancellations

• Cancellations will incur a 50% handling fee of the total invoice value.
• Rescheduled bookings will receive a credit; no refund or handling fee applies.
• No refunds for early returns or unused service days.
• Extended sittings are billed at a pro-rata daily rate.

6. Pet Health and Medical Care

We are not responsible for pre-existing medical conditions. If illness or injury occurs, we may seek immediate veterinary care at your cost.

7. Liability and Release

We take every precaution to keep your pets safe. However, FatPuppy Pet Care cannot be held liable for unforeseen accidents, injuries, or losses. You release and hold harmless FatPuppy Pet Care, its team, and contracted sitters from all claims or costs arising during service provision.

8. Access to Property

• You are responsible for key handover before and after services.
• Valuables should be secured, and restricted areas identified clearly.
• Keys and access codes will be stored securely and used only for agreed services.

9. Privacy (POPIA Compliance)

By accepting these Terms, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal and pet data for service purposes. We store your information securely and share it only with authorised sitters and staff, in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

10. Amendments

FatPuppy Pet Care reserves the right to update or modify these Terms as necessary. Updated versions will be made available upon request or via official communication.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes will first be addressed through direct discussion and mediation before considering formal legal steps.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
